Laminating Process Training Guide
1. Preparation

Cut the laminate off the back.

Remove the backer from the front.

Set the old laminate aside.
2. Choosing the Right Laminate

Use 1060 laminate for this process.

Ensure the laminate is positioned correctly.
3. Removing the Old Roll
-
Pull the pin to remove the old roll.
-
Set the old roll down.
-
Remove the core from the old roll so it can be reused for the new one.
4. Loading the New Laminate Roll
-
Insert the new roll inside the core.
-
Feed the laminate into place.
-
Make sure it locks in correctly—you should be able to feel and hear it click.

Place the bar on the roll.
-
Always insert the pin before pulling to prevent the roll from falling.
5. Aligning the Laminate

Line up the vinyl edge at 54 inches (or 60 inches if applicable).

Match the laminate’s edge with:
-
The edge of the laminator.
-
The alignment mark on the bed.
-

Repeat on both sides to ensure proper alignment.

If you see any bunching in the middle:
-
Remove the tape.
-
Reposition the laminate to lay flat and even across the surface.

6. Securing and Running the Laminate

Insert the bar that holds the material down.

Once aligned, hit RUN to begin laminating.
7. Trimming and Handling the Laminated Material

Lightly score the laminate along the seam to separate pieces.

When handling material:

Lay it flat on the floor.
-
Pinch the edge and carefully carry it to the table.
-
Trim off any excess laminate to prevent catching in the plotter.
